Sam Reed was elected Washington’s 14th Secretary of State in 2000 and served three terms. During his time in office, Sam gave generously to many charities through his paycheck with the Combined Fund Drive. One of the charities he continues to give to through his retirement pension check is The American Cancer Society. In 2011, the issue of cancer hit home when he was diagnosed with a tumor on his kidney. This is his story.
