King County Combined Fund Drive volunteers give a toast to another good year

Volunteers came from around King County to the Pyramid Ale House on the evening of February 12th where they were treated to a free dinner and drinks courtesy of the King County CFD Committee.

The evening included the first public Combined Fund Drive appearance for new Secretary of State Kim Wyman, who showed great enthusiasm for the program, and an incredibly moving speech from Northwest Harvest.

One of the highlights of the night came when Jessica Veach was introduced by committee member and Community Health Charities Development Director Karen White. Veach spoke for five minutes about the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest, and gave a detailed accounting of how her life was affected by the important work of the foundation and nonprofits throughout the community. Her speech led to a call to action, encouraging employees to join the King County CFD Committee.

The committee also took the time to hand out a group of awards celebrating the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers.
