CFD Recognition Events

As the CFD's annual giving campaign enters its final month, the program invites our volunteers, leaders, donors and even our charities to take the time and nominate state employees that have gone above and beyond for the CFD.

Awards will be given to Campaign Leaders, Local Coordinators and Executive Leadership at the statewide. Thurston County and King County will also be awarding employees who ran strong local campaigns and all volunteers are welcome to nominate their favorites for any category.


Ebola Relief Campaign

As the world comes together to help end the outbreak of Ebola virus in West Africa, the Combined Fund Drive is doing its part.

From now until the end of the 2014 Annual Giving Campaign, state and higher education employees are invited to give through their paychecks to any of the charities that have been identified as being in the regions most affected by this debilitating virus.

DSHS Secretary makes sure "Everybody Eats"
October 22, 2014

In one of the most ambitious undertakings the CFD has ever been a part of, the Secretary of DSHS has begun touring facilities and offices around the state with the sole purpose of promoting hunger relief.

Kevin Quigley has already visited more than 15 different offices in Yakima, Kennewick and Spokane and will continue his tour through November.

Director of Ecology visits Spokane for CFD
October 22, 2014

Ecology's Eastern Regional Office is in full-CFD Mode! The office has four main events scheduled through November, all of which share the common adage: "If you feed them, they will come".

The first event was on October 16 with the Friends Chili Challenge and "Fill the Wish List" Drive to benefit Transitions, a local organization that runs five facilities to give assistance to at-risk women and children in the Spokane area.

"Everybody Eats" Tour Hits Spokane
October 22, 2014

DSHS Secretary Kevin Quigley toured Spokane County October 8th to visit DSHS agencies and institutions as part of this year's DSHS Combined Fund Drive campaign "Everyone Eats". DSHS staff donated food items for local food banks and celebrated their success with Secretary Quigley.

The HCS and DDS agencies donated 1,220 pounds of food to 2nd Harvest in Spokane and the Medical Lake Complex donated over 9,000 pounds for the Medical Lake Food Bank.
