Kim Wyman Works for You

Secretary of State Kim Wyman has challenged agencies and higher education institutions around the state to encourage philanthropy in their communities by introducing the “Kim Wyman Works for You” initiative.

Any small or medium agency that achieves 100% participation, or large agency that increases its participation by 100% (doubling its efforts) will be eligible to have the Secretary come and “work” for a day at a facility and/or office.

DEFINITIONS:

  1. Percentage of participation is defined as the total number of donors who give through payroll contribution in a given agency compared to the total number of employees.
  2. The Annual Giving Campaign measures ALL payroll contribution pledges (monthly, one-time, personal checks and limited time) in the first through fourth quarter of 2015, along with any one-time, checks or limited time pledges placed in the fourth quarter of 2014. Any donation falling into one of these categories counts toward the percentage of participation.
  3. All current monthly contributions are counted toward the percentage of participation.
  4. Small agencies are defined as agencies with a range of 1-100 employees.
  5. Medium agencies are defined as agencies with a range of 101-500 employees.
  6. Large agencies are defined as agencies with a range of 501 or more employees.

OFFICIAL RULES:

  1. The contest officially runs from October 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. The winners of this challenge will be announced on January 12, 2015.
  2. The Combined Fund Drive (CFD) and the Office of Secretary of State (OSOS) reserves the right to reject job based upon safety, privacy and health concerns for all involved.
  3. Upon determination of 100% participation, the OSOS Special Programs Director and CFD staff will work with the agency Campaign Leader and Executive Sponsor to schedule a visit from Secretary Wyman.
  4. CFD and/or OSOS staff will attend each job with Secretary Wyman.
  5. Donors that give through fundraising events cannot be counted in total percentage of participation.
  6. Personal checks that are sent to the CFD state office with a payroll contribution form will be counted as payroll contribution.
  7. The minimum payroll contribution is $1 per pay period.
